Is the Golden Key International Honor society worth the $70 membership?
I haven't been able to find anyone whose heard of them before and I am just trying to find out if they are really beneficial for one's resume. Or are they just charging me $70 to tell me what I already know. For those who have heard of them, has anyone used it and found it to be worth the cost of membership?
A-Best: I havent heard of them , And if they're not that well known , and dont really have that much credibility - i wouldnt waste my money .
Chances are you could still slip it onto your college resume anyway.
A: The $70 is for lifetime membership. I signed up through Phi Theta Kappa so I could add another line on my resume and take advantage of their employment network (if I ever needed it). However, the "Phi Theta Kappa" gets the most recognition on the resume.
I regularly get e-mails from them telling me about academic programs, scholarships, and career opportunities. Is it worth the money? It might well be once I return to college in a year or two to complete a degree.
BTW, you don't have to join right away so long as you maintain their academic standards. I didn't sign up until my last semester.
