Question:

Any tips for driving from Las Vegas to San Diego at night on I-15?
I have to be in San Diego at 8am and would like to know how long to plan for driving, any tips on road safety on I-15? Thank you Lingua06..........I'll try to get up the nerve to drive at night but will look at airfares as a back-up. The drive was a breeze despite those 90mph+ drivers. Thanks again for your reponses.

A-Best: Give your self 6 hours to get there. Will this be 8am during the week? If it is down town San Diego that you want - allow your self an extra hour to deal with rush hour traffic. So that means leaving 1am. Is that possible for you? Maybe you'd be better off leaving Las vegas the day before so that you could sleep in San Diego. Leave vegas at 2pm, get to San Diego at 8pm, sleep in and then get up the next day for your meeting. Is it possible for you to fly? Check around, there are some good deals. Try southwest airlines. You could get a 6am flight, be in San Diego by 7 and then take a cab to get where ever you need to go. 1-15 is not really any problem. It is an interstate free way. Have plenty of coffee on hand, music and cruise control. Have plenty of gas and make sure the car is in good working order. Not a heck of a lot of stops between la and vegas - so if you do stop and you need to replenish anything - get it all down at once because there may not be another exit for a long time!
