I'm driving from Minneapolis to San Jose for Christmas. Which route would be better: I-70 0r I-80? ?
Looking at the map I could save a few hours going i-80, but I've never traveled that in the winter. I have done i-70 through Denver and the Rockies and had cars spin out in front of me. Any advice would be appreciated.
A-Best: I-80 for sure... head to south to des moines and catch I-80 west all the way straight into san jose... crossing utah and nevada is boring, and the nevada highway cops are covert pricks with corvettes so beware.... but thats quicker
I-70 takes you into southern utah where you'd have to back track north to salt lake city and catch I-80 anyways... or head south to vegas on I-15 which would take you 5 hours longer probably...
A: I-80 would likely involve less mountain driving.
A: Here is an alternative U.S. 63 south to Jefferson City Missouri Take U.s. 50 West to Sacramento.
