Question:

I got a weird number on my credit card statement which charged me $99.50 but ihave no clue what it could be?
the number was 8775563743 has anyone else had this happen i called the number back and it doesn't have a company name all they say is if you have a question about a charge made to your account leave your first and last name your adress telephone number and last four digits of your credit card obviously a scam. But does anyone know what it could be from?

A-Best: When surfing the web, have you responded to any pop-ups offering a free coupon/prize? If yes, you got nailed by an "opt out"--as in they sent you an email and in the fine print, if you do not opt out, you agree to be billed.... As for the scam, if you don't get the charge removed from your credit card, they win because you'll have paid them.  

A: you should ask your credit card company if theres a better way to handle the situation , however i did have a similar incident with a charge made to Texas when i live in Ohio that worried me but then i called and found out it was my cell phone bill ( i just switched companys and never saw the number before ) , good luck and call your credit card company  

A: Call your credit card company and have them dispute the charge for you. Do not leave your contact info with the 877 number if you do not recognize it. Sounds like a scam to me.  

A: Dispute it if it's not valid.
