Do you think this is fair? I just got my cable bill and they are charging me .99 for paper billing?
I know alot of old people who doesn't even have a computer. Why should we have to pay for them to send us a bill?
That was always included in our service. This wasen't included in my original contract. Why don't they just give a discount for those who pay online?
A-Best: No it's not fair. Many companies are going paperless.
A: I think it's fair. After all, you ARE wasting trees.
A: It costs them money to print a bill and send it.
Many companies do this. I had a car insurance company charging $3.
paying online, through automatic payments, or on the phone is quicker and cheaper for all parties.
Think about the total cost to send 10 million or even 100 million paper bills every month. If they can eliminate this cost, or defray it to those who consume it, it makes a substantial difference on the bottom line.
A: More then fair. It cost $0.42 per mailed bill, plus paper and time for printing the bill, people to handle the processing. With email billing it is all automated leading to incredible cost savings. It cost them way more the $0.99 for a company to mail a bill. $0.99 is way more the fair.
A: well its only a dollar and they want to improve their revenue. you can still change to email billing, we live in 2009, there is always a way to get on a computer. a local library is a perfect example
