Question:

I am going to maldives and The resort i will stay in they offer me 70$ pp transportation from and to airport?
i will stay in paradise resort which is 15km away from the male airport. i think its very expensive, any other ideas ?

A-Best: Hi redbull - yes, transport in Maldives is very expensive, and the rate you have been quoted sounds about right, to be honest. It is possible that there may only be 1 or 2 people on the boat with you (in which case, the resort will actually make a loss on the cost of the transfer). So sometimes they win, other times they will lose out. Also, there isn't really any other alternative, as at the moment there is not an extensive public transport system of ferries, that could take you to the resort.  

A: If you booked through a travel agent then the transfers should be included, but if you are sorting out your own flights/transfer etc then you have done well to get the transfer fee from the resort. I think this is a reasonable price $35 each way is pretty good.  

A: If you do your booking with a tour operator there are chances you will get a good price some time transfer is free to.. But the price $70-$100 for 15km is normal  

A: The price seems right. I had an oppurtunity to travel there in 2006 and payed $ 60 for the transfer to/from the airport for approx the same distance. And as a previous responder stated....you don't really have a choice...
